Community, Compounding & Mail Order Pharmacy
To ensure the health and wellbeing of our Patients and our Staff we are seeking your help to reduce the risk of exposure to the COVID-19 virus.
Here are some important steps you can take before interacting with the Medical Product Staff and Pharmacists at Market Drugs Medical.
- If you have any symptoms of respiratory illness like fever and/or new onset cough or difficulty breathing or have been in contact with someone who does or has been to a COVID-19 impacted country or area or has had close contact with another confirmed or probable case, please do not come to the pharmacy. Phone 811 for Assessment by Alberta Health Services. If you require new medications or refills of meds or medical supplies, we can have them delivered or you may assign an individual who has not been exposed to COVID-19 virus to pick up your medication or medical supplies.
- For patients who do not exhibit the prior Covid-19 symptoms, you may phone us in advance of coming to Market Drugs Medical so we can prepare and answer to your needs effectively prior to your visit to expedite service and limit any unnecessary exposures. If you require refills, please phone us in advance at (780) 422-1397 or Toll-Free 1-800-282-3913. Ask your doctor if they can Fax (780) 426-6179 or Phone in your Prescription or refills. When you call Market Drugs Medical your call will be immediately answered during regular hours by a Staff Member. After hours calls will be managed by our message system and your call will be returned the next morning.

Our new consultation room provides comfort and privacy.
Compounding: We stock a comprehensive inventory of chemicals and formulas. Compounded prescriptions are helpful for any patient requiring unique dosages and/or delivery devices. Examples of compounded products prepared on-site are bio-equivalent hormone replacement therapies, alternative dosage forms for patients unable to take medication orally, difficult to find medications, complementary and alternative medications, individualized pediatric dosage forms and doses, injectable medications for erectile dysfunction, and injectable pumps for chronic pain patients. Market Drugs Medical pharmacy is a member of the Professional Compounding Centers of America.
Customized Compliance Packaging: Market Drugs Medical offers the innovative PACMED Strip Packaging Compliance System. PACMED allows our pharmacists to organize prescriptions into clearly labeled cellophane packages that pinpoint the day and time that patients need to take their medication. This system is ideal for assisted-living and long-term care homes. Traditional blister pack cards and dosettes are also available.
Group Home Value-Added Services: Market Drugs Medical provides our services to the specific needs of two Integrated Supportive Living facilities. We provide controlled dosage forms, including PACMED strip packaging, blister pack cards, pre-filled syringes and pre-measured liquids. Medication Administration Records (MAR Sheets) for group home pharmacy management are also available. Pharmacists will come to the facilities to conduct educational in-services on medications and quarterly medication reviews. A pharmacist is available 24 hours, 7 days a week on-call for emergencies. As an AADL vendor we can also provide patients with incontinence, ostomy, wound care, ambulatory aids and a variety of other medical products and services.
